Equine assisted therapy visits

Our team of registered trained therapy horses bring hope, joy and
wellbeing to people of all ages and abilities. Research has shown
that equine therapy has positive mental, social, educational, spiritual
and physical benefits.

We currently serve over 85 nursing homes, Alzheimer Units, children’s hospitals,
medical centers, schools, and Assisted Living centers on a
regular basis. Visits last approximately one hour, and each facility
plans these visits based on their individual needs. Our visits start
up in April and finish the end of October.

Just say Whoa to Bullying

Our program takes a unique approach to teaching bullying prevention by
helping children to recognize and respect the differences in one another.
By understanding that everyone has something valuable to offer, children
learn acceptance, tolerance, respect, and understanding of others.

In addition, this innovative program is the first of its kind to teach bullying
prevention using animal-assisted activities with miniature therapy horses.
While often used to help teach children with learning disabilities, truancy,
and behavioral issues, animal-assisted activities can also used with mainstream
children to capture their attention, teach to the moment, and reinforce what
they learn. Best of all, it’s been proven that animal-assisted activities provide
children with retention of curriculum.

Horse Powered Reading® integrates social-emotional learning with academics; thus allowing students see and experience reading with their entire mind, body and emotions by creating metaphors for the skills involved in reading.

Students interact with horses from the ground, while using toys and props to identify obstacles and learn five critical reading skills - phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension

* Session goals vary depending upon the needs of the individual or group

This program will be starting Spring of 2023.

Rescue and advocate for miniature horses that suffer from dwarfism

We rescue miniature horses from auctions, kill pens or neglect cases and provide all their medical, farrier and dental needs to nurse them back to health.
Our nonprofit also works with local and national miniature horse rescues to save these precious animals and help them land in a loving safe home. We are also advocates for dwarf miniature horses, which are a special needs horse that requires expert medical and farrier care. Our nonprofit educates the public about dwarfism and the certain care required for them as well as send the message out to not breed for these little horses due to their short life span and health issues.
